MDF BOARD

MDF board (Medium Density Fiberboard), is a type of artificial wood board that has gone through the process of pressing wood into fibers combined with UF glue in a certain ratio, depending on the quality and requirements of raw material, wood types, and thickness. The product has high mechanical strength and large sizes, suitable for furniture production technology in tropical climates like Vietnam, so it is widely used in many manufacturing fields, including interior decoration and construction.

Standard MDF board has dimensions of 1220mmx2440mm (4'x8′) with many different thicknesses (2.3mm, 2.5mm, 3mm, 4mm, 4.5mm, 4.75mm, 5.5mm, 6mm, 8mm, 9mm, 12.0mm, 15mm, 16mm, 17mm, 18mm, 19mm, 25mm) depending on customer's intended use.

MDF board can replace natural wood due to its increasing scarcity. MDF stands for Medium Density Fiberboard. There are 3 types of adhesion strength, which are HDF, MDF, and LDF (regular MDF, moisture resistant (blue) and fire resistant (red))

In terms of structure, MDF boards have the following basic ingredients: wood fiber powder, adhesives, paraffin wax, wood protectants (anti-termites, anti-mold), and inorganic filler powder.

Advantages

• MDF boards are highly durable, have a lifespan of up to 15 years without changing quality, and are resistant to moisture and fire.
• MDF board is environmentally friendly because it only uses scrap wood, has a large surface, and can be finished with paint, melamine, laminate, or veneer. When it comes to aesthetics, MDF boards can satisfy a diverse range of customer requirements.

Applications

• MDF board is widely used in the furniture manufacturing industry and is most commonly used in office furniture, warehouses, or public buildings.
• MDF board is environmentally friendly and highly durable.
• Made from composite fibers mixed with moisture-proof additives, MDF board can be used for some outdoor requirements, in wet environments, manufactured industrial wooden doors, or used the core to glue veneer onto the door or for decoration by coating the surface with melamine.
